Accountability

As a school counselor, I use data to demonstrate the impact of the school counseling program on academics, attendance, and behavior to help guide future action and results. Data answers in measurable terms the question, "How are students different as a result of what I do?"

While an Action Plan presents what a school counselor intends to do, the Closing-the-Gap, Curriculum, or Small Group Results Report demonstrates the success or areas for growth of the intervention.

Keeping a log of 1:1 student counseling interactions with brief memory aids demonstrates accountability. For data purposes, the log can be summarized so student confidentiality is maintained.
