About Me

I came to North Carolina for college at Duke in 1994, and have happily called our beautiful state "home" ever since. My wonderful husband and I have been married for 22 years, and have five fantastic kids, ages 11 to 20. My husband and kids have always been Tar Heel fans, so they were excited when I got my Masters in School Counseling from UNC! Now I figure I win no matter which team wins! I enjoy being outside, spending time with family, and always learning more! My dad was a great example to me of helping people, continual learning, and discovery; he gives me a great example for which to strive. Being a school counselor is the most natural extension of myself I can imagine!

Why school counseling?

I have worked in schools in various capacities for many years, and recognize that the most satisfying parts of my day come when I get to empower students with the tools they need to succeed and become the best version of themselves. I see the potential in each student, and strive to help guide each to a satisfying balance between school, home, and personal life. I love working with students and building relationships of trust!
