Learning Disabilities

Learning Disabilities Association of America provides many resources for parents of children with learning disabilities, on topics ranging from what to look for at certain ages if you suspect a learning disability to ways to advocate for individuals with learning disabilities. Support is provided for parents, teachers, adults, and professionals.

Friends of Quinn was designed and run by Quinn Bradlee, a young adult who grew up with dyslexia and ADHD. He is quick to point out that he prefers the term “learning differences” rather than learning disabilities, because he feels individuals with learning differences can still achieve the same things as their peers. Friends of Quinn is a site designed for young people with learning differences to learn from each other, and it also provides good information from outside sources.

The National Center for Learning Disabilities provides resources to parents, young adults, educators, and professionals, via external links, on living with learning disabilities. Their mission is to empower individuals and transform schools, to improve the lives of the 1 in 5 children and adults nationwide with learning and attention issues.
